Science Festival

I am honored to have been asked to be a presenter at the Museum of Innovation and Science’s three-day Science Festival on November 8, 2014. The Festival ran November 7-9. There were many exhibits and hands-on science experiments. I saw several exhibitors I knew from other festivals and it’s always a pleasure to see familiar faces.

The animal ambassadors were Max Lynx, Barnyard Parrot, Coco Chinchilla, Peter Opossum and Henry Hedgehog. Animal specimens were zebra, lion, kangaroo, brush-tailed possum, alpaca, nile crocodile, fallow deer and tanuki.

We were exhibiting from 10:00am to 4:00pm with a presentation at 1:00pm. By then, I had lost my voice. I’m not sure if it was from 3 hours of non-stop talking or one of the smoke signal experiments going on inside the tent. The tent was heated which was nice for the Peter and Henry.

It was a fabulous set-up for our exhibit. MiSci staff and volunteers were very helpful and it really made my job easier. However, no one could speak for me and by the end of the day, it hurt to talk.

If you ever want a day of discovery, visit MiSci at 15 Nott Terrace Heights, Schenectady, NY. It’s a great museum and planetarium.

Here are a few photos of my exhibit before I got mobbed.
